Student Email Use Agreement

Please review and sign the form below to receive access to your Relay Student Email account. If you have any questions about these terms and conditions, please email support@relay.edu.

Relay-issued email accounts are used in all of our application systems, in replacement of your original application email. These systems include our Student Information System, official email lists, Learning Management Systems, admissions platform, etc. This email is linked to your student ID with the Registrar’s Office.

Terms & Conditions

By signing this document, you agree to the following:

1. Communications via email

1.1. Once your Relay-issued email address is activated, Relay will use ONLY your institutional email to communicate with you. This is the official channel for ALL our communications.

1.2. If you use a different email address, it is important that you successfully redirect it. You can find instructions to redirect your email in the FAQ section. It is the students’ responsibility to check periodically and frequently for new messages.

2. Ethical use considerations.

Our cloud-based Microsoft’s Office 365 Outlook is a tool provided free of charge to you, the student. It serves as a primary means of communication and it is meant to improve administrative efficiency as well as communications with faculty, staff, and other students. You must use this resource in an efficient, ethical, and lawful manner. Relay students have to abide by and understand the following principles:

2.1. Relay owns all student email accounts and the data transmitted or stored using them.

2.2. Keep ALL electronic communications professional. Relay reserves the right to access student accounts for special auditing purposes.

2.3. Relay has a zero-tolerance policy for cyberbullying.

2.4. You cannot email or post inappropriate comments on social networks using your Relay-issued email address.

2.5. Relay has a zero-tolerance policy for any type of harassment or treating a person differently because of race, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, age, disability, citizenship status, national origin, and sexual orientation.

2.6. No data, other than your own, that is classified as Personal Identifiable Information (PII) under FERPA law should be stored in or transmitted via Relay email, especially student’s data.

2.7. You must avoid sending unsolicited bulk email or use your account for any unlawful, defamatory, or fraudulent purpose.
